NOKIA V OPPO AMONG ‘IMPACT CASES OF THE YEAR’
Anand and Anand has been recognised for excellence in IP in the Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific Awards 2024, with the firm winning ‘Intellectual Property Law Firm of the Year’.
The firm also won the ‘Boutique Firm of the Year’ at the prestigious awards that recognise firms, lawyers and cases that pushed boundaries, had wide social impacts and assisted in shaping jurisprudence.
Nokia v Oppo, where Anand and Anand appearing for Nokia engendered a landmark order on pro tem security, has been recognised among ‘Impact Cases of the Year’. The case saw a Division Bench of the Delhi High Court ordering a pro tem security in favour of Nokia during the pendency of its SEP frand dispute with Oppo. The court held that Nokia was entitled to receive security payment at the outset even before the bench goes into the details of whether Nokia’s patents were infringed and valid.
