Saif has an overall experience of 19 years in the arena of Criminal Law, Intellectual Property and Commercial Litigation. Prior to joining Anand and Anand, he worked with British Petroleum (on the rolls of Castrol India Ltd) as its Manager Legal Trademark Operations at Mumbai. He started his legal profession as a trial lawyer and went on to work on some of the most contentious criminal and commercial cases while assisting some well known senior trial lawyers. During that time, he was also appointed as an amicus curie in various cases before the trial court.
Mr. Saif Khan is a Partner at Anand and Anand in the Litigation Department. He joined the firm as a senior associate in the year 2010 and was designated as a partner in the year 2011. He is not only heading the White-Collar Crime Practice and IP Enforcement team of the firm but also litigates contentious IP matters regularly. He has a vast experience in litigation and advisory for various Fortune 500 companies and other leading organizations worldwide. He also holds massive experience in strategizing and advising on contentious matters relating to Corporate Frauds, Technological Frauds/Cyber Crimes, Commercial Disputes, Intellectual Property Rights Disputes, Disparagement/Defamation, Data Protection, Domain name issues and International Arbitration. He has been independently representing conglomerates in such contentious matters before various forums and Courts in India. Saif has also successfully led as the main counsel in some of the most complex and high-stake commercial litigations, both civil and criminal.
He is also responsible for a highly effective Enforcement team at the firm and helps brand owners in developing anti-counterfeiting strategies to combat counterfeits, online and otherwise, with the help of various agencies like Law Enforcement, Cyber Cell, Customs Department, Legal Metrology Department etc.
Saif regularly engages in IP awareness programs and pro- bono workshops organized by well recognized bodies; he also represents the firm at various forums on conducting IP awareness workshops/webinars with government and non-government agencies across the country.
He also writes for leading IP publications like The World Trademark Review and Asia IP.
