Archana Shanker was invited to Punjab Agricultural University to deliver a talk on the confluence of plant variety and patent laws.

Giving an illustrative talk, with the help of several Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers’ Rights Act case studies, she drew attention to the practical aspects of prosecution, opposition and litigation.

Organised by the University’s Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics, the workshop was designed to acquaint end users, policy makers, faculty and students with the concepts of IPR. It garnered participation by CISI, National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, CIPAM, PPV&FRA, Punjab State Council for Science and Technology and TIFAC.
